Sony VPL-VW675ES Review

Sony VPL-VW675ES Review
Sony VPL-VW675ES Review - Currently, the resolution of 2K is already too small - except for smartphones. In the home entertainment sector, the 4K HDR standard is increasingly being introduced, which integrates not only a four-fold higher resolution than the 1080p, but also a wider color range. To support the introduction of the new standard, Sony introduced not only the console PS4 Pro, but also released a new projector for home theater - VPL-VW675ES.

This is one of the first projectors with support for Hybrid Log-Gamma (HyLG) for streaming services with HDR-video and user-generated content. The device also supports the HDR10 standard and is compatible with related materials in services like Amazon and Netflix, as well as with 4K Blu-ray players.

The projector differs native support for such a high resolution and colors with a wide dynamic range. At the same time, the brightness of the lamp reaches 1800 lumens (the time of guaranteed operation in the sparing mode is 6000 hours), and the level of dynamic contrast is 350 000: 1. The manufacturer also promises that the device is low in noise thanks to the quiet operation of the active cooling system.

It is necessary to add that the device supports the output of 4K-pictures HDR both with a frequency of 24 frames per second, and 60 frames / s. In addition, Sony promises additional optimizations to improve image quality. It's about using SXRD panels with a native resolution of 4K, without any artificial manipulation with pixels.

The Sony TRILUMINOS engine is responsible for the rich and accurate color rendition, and Motionflow technology is used to minimize motion blur with fast frame change.
